Thank you so much for filling out the LAEF volunteer application and expressing interest in volunteering at LAEF’s Summer Enrichment Institute (SEI)!  We rely on volunteer support to make this amazing program a huge success!  We have 500+ students enrolled, so we are counting on you!

Location: Rossmoor Elementary School: 3272 Shakespeare Drive, Los Alamitos

Times when volunteer support is needed:                   

              Class 1 – 8:00-9:50

              Recess – 9:50-10:10

              Class 2 – 10:10-12:00

              Lunch – 12:00-12:40

              Class 3 – 12:40-2:30

              Recess – 2:30-2:50

              Class 4 – 2:50-4:40

You can support for two hours or all day!  You can come and go based on your availability.  We love having volunteer support for student supervision during recess and lunch, as well as serving as assistants during the enrichment classes.

Upon arrival:

Enter through the gate (buzz in if the gate is closed) on Montecito Road.

The Volunteer Table will be set up outside of Room 34 (LAEF Office, which is normally Kids Korner).

Each time you volunteer, you will:

1. Sign in

2. Sign up for a class (or classes) to assist

3. Create your Volunteer Name Badge (sticker)

4. Sign out

Campus Coordinator Tiffany Penick will be overseeing and helping volunteers.

 

Feel free to bring a water bottle and snacks/lunch.  Many classes take place outdoors, so sunscreen, hats and close-toed shoes are recommended. 

 

Please engage with the students!  If teachers don’t have a specific task for you, join the class activities – sit and/or play with the kids.  We kindly ask that you refrain from using cell phones or other electronic devices while volunteering.
